Turtles have been making the news lately due to the Gulf oil spill, but today’s Friday so it’s time to have some fun.
Save the Turtles, Inc. is a California-based non-profit organization that helps protect endangered sea turtles by providing financial assistance to communities in Costa Rica that protect sea turtles.
Save the Turtles has an interactive sea turtle vocabulary game on their website that you can play in any of three levels. Also, do you know which the smallest or the most common sea turtle is? You can test yourself on this and other turtle facts through the Species Test. If you’re visually based, you might like the Scramble Puzzle as well.
Sea Conservancy, the world’s oldest sea turtle organization, has a webpage called Turtle Tides filled with games and puzzles. The word search, concentration, and sliding puzzle games are all based on classics. The three quizzes they offer will teach you about turtles, from what hawksbill sea turtles eat to why barrier islands are important. Unfortunately, the TurtlePlayer Game wasn’t working when I visited their website but it is also available on their Tour de Turtles website.
Enjoy the fun!
